Is it safe to have sex with someone who has Herpes?
Hello I met a nice woman we been dating for a year I asked her to make love to me that’s when she told me she had Herpes but it was ok to have sex. I need to know I MEEN REALY NEED TO KNOW if it is SAFE to have sex with her. Even if I used a condom will the touching of skin around the penis to the vagina and getting vagina fluids on my skin could I catch Herpes? Please, Please tell me the safest way to not catch herpes I don’t want anything to stay with me for life but family and money.

This is from someone without it. I was tested and living with someone with it. If he didn't know, we would of never known. So, we are careful. And FYI: Doing it without the condoms... He's mine for life. If I catch it, I'll have it for life, Yipee-doo..

Condoms only protect the covered body parts; areas not covered by the condoms can get infected. This virus can pass from areas not covered by a condom but unless a herpes test is carried out at intervals, it is not possible to be certain that the virus has not passed between the partners.

It's possible that either of you gave it to each other or the guy that you got oral from during your breakup gave it to you. It spreads from skin to skin contact so it's possible. When you go in for testing have a culture done, that's the most effective way of testing, it does sound like herpes though. Just be careful and use condoms when having sex with your boyfriend, it's not a 100% safeguard but if he doesn't have it yet it's a risk reducer.
