Oral Herpes and masturbating

hey,

this site is very helpful thank you for answering my questions.

when I found out you can get herpes 1 on your genitals from masturbating..that frightened me to say the least.

Now I have never had a cold sore but like I said before my father does get them.

Sometimes however I will feel a "tingle" in my lip that I've read is sign a cold sore to come. Yet I dont develop any cold sores. My question is..although they are not visable..can I still pass the virus down to my geintals if I have touched my lips then masturbated?

maybe you should stop touching everything before playing with your penis.... maybe helpful advice to ya. also try wearing latex gloves before stroking it.... and sorry to tell you that you probably have herpes.... sorry bud... have fun, and don't end up with aids. practice safe masturbation...

according to MSF, HSV1 can live up to 3-4 hours on objects

according to MSF(a famous an serious internal Docs Association) HSV1 can live up to 3 hours on porous objects and up to 4 hours on solid objects. However it is not exactly known what concentration of the virus is necessary for an actual transmisson to take place.

Nevertheless in serveral cases it has been proven that people have contracted the virus by drinking in the same glass or sharing eatin ustencils, being that the virus can be present in saliva at all times but in an more important amount when an actual sore is present, or just before / just after it is present.

Thus, as a precaution it is recommanded you use good common hygene sense.

Always wash your hands properly before eating. If you can, make sure you know where things that you bring to your mouth have been during the past 4 hours.

Never kiss someone who has a sore of course.

As for towels and tooth brushes, they are objects that just should never be shared as a mesure of precaution.

Of course if you have a cold sore and you rub it or spit all over your hands before you caress your intimate parts, you are taking a greater risk of spreading the virus than is you take the precaution of washing your hands with a good soap lotion or an at least 80 % Alcohol solution for 1 to 3 mins and caress yourself with dry hands without touching your moush area.

okay...

so if you shared underwear w/somebody who had an outbreak, or if they rubbed their coldsore or genital herpes on the vaginal part of the underwear and then you wore the underwear 30sec after...could you get genital herpes?

also...

my little sister got a coldsore from me after drinking after me, since it can be trasferred by water, say i have a coldsore and i take a shower, and the water runs down from my lip to my genital, is there any risk there?

You can read, right?

As I have stated several times before, HSV1 or HSV2 does NOT survive on towels, books, glasses, anything that isn't human. You can ONLY get it via intimate physical contact with another human being who already has it, NOT from a towel or any other object for that matter.

just say a towel that was infected with hsv1 touched my hands..then I touched my penis..could I have transfered the virus to my genitals?

Im quite scared.
