My 13 yr old daughter (and virgin) had a sore in her vaginal area. She had a negative swab test, but positive blood tests for HPV 1 and 2. The doctor spoke with her privately thinking she'd share more easily than with mom around. My daughter couldn't understand, but thought it funny since she had never done anything except French kiss a boy several times, and 9 months ago. She is very naive and still thinks orgasm sounds gross and disgusting. She is very open with me and even though I was preparing myself for learning something about my daughter I didn't know, she thought it crazy that the doctor kept asking her in different ways and even afterward, that I kept asking in different ways. She actually said, "no matter how many times you ask me, the answer is still going to be the same. I know girls in my class that do that stuff and I think they're stupid. I'm only 13. I didn't do anything" She finally told me why she wouldn't see that boy again. He asked her about doing more than kissing and she told him she isn't that kind of girl. She said "BYE" via Facebook.

I have to add that my anxiety is 100 fold since I DO have the virus, but I did get it from sex when I was in my 20's. I wasn't born yesterday, and I have an 18 yr old son...I believe my daughter. Every website I read and even the doctor says that it is "highly unlikely" or "virtually impossible" to contract HPV 2 from French kissing, but is my daughter that million to one possibility? I know there will be skeptics out there who think I'm an idiot and my daughter is just a liar. I would think that, too, of someone else's kid.

I will be calling the doctor again tomorrow. She did another round of blood tests. I think the doctor is confused, too. Is there anyone out there who has honestly had this experience? I actually was worried my daughter caught it from me which apparently is absolutely impossible unless I was a sicko. I can't sleep for 2 nights so far, worried about my daughter. She is so innocent and what a handicap to start out with.
