Herpes Doctor

Alright, I've been getting outbreaks maybe once a year since the middle of high school. I'm currently in college. I'm pretty sure these are cold sores but they never show up on my lips, in my mouth or in my eyes. And I've never had any outbreaks in my genital area.

Usually, it appears on my lower cheeks. It once appeared right over my nose, between my eyebrows. Right now, I have an outbreak right under my left eyebrow (but it's not on my eye or anything).

Basically, first of all, are these cold sores? Everything I've read on the subject points to "yes" but like I said, I've never had any outbreaks on my lips. Could it potentially be something else?

Secondly, I just got into a relationship with someone I care a lot about. I even shared my first kiss with her (and many other firsts even though we haven't had sex yet). What I want to know is if she's at risk of getting any type of herpes from me when I'm NOT having an outbreak. If so, what are the chances? When I do have an outbreak (such as a day or two ago), are we in the clear if we don't do anything near it? For example, with my current situation, if we were to kiss/french kiss, would she be okay?
