I have got a cold sore two days ago and I am treating it with abreva. when will it no longer be contagious and can my partner get oral herpes by giving me oral sex.
It is said that cold sores (Herpes Symplex 1) is always contagious, it's just less likely to give it to someone if you do not have an outbrake. So since you have a cold sore it is most contagious up untill the point of after the scab falls off. And no your partner can't get oral herpes, even if you have a cold sore, by giving oral sex. Unless you have genital herpes and he gives you oral, but no he cant get it.
