Not painful Herpes Zoster
Hi everybody -
A week ago I was on vacation and I started feeling an itch just below my right breast, and I thought it was a mosquito bite or something. I went to the pharmacy anyway because it itched so badly and she said it was herpes zoster, gave me the acyclovir, and the doctor confirmed the diagnosis and the medication a day after that. It's been a week now and I still have my shingles, and they itch and burn, but: there is no pain whatsoever. This is kind of confusing, and this is why I am trying to seek out for help on the internet. I am 28 years old, I had chickenpox as a child, the diagnosis is pretty normal, I had what I can only describe as a nightmare week at work a couple of weeks ago, and this is what caused it, the stress and the fact that I don't eat properly (I have no time) with vegs and fruits and so on, no one passed it on to me, but everyone says that this is the most painful experience they've had in life and I have had no feelins of pain at all during the whole process, and this is starting to freak me out. At first I felt lucky as hell but now I kind of feel like the odd one, thinking that maybe my diagnosis was wrong or sth, please, if there is anybody out there who reads this and has had herpes zoster (shingles) without pain symptoms, tell me, it would really help me chill out a little...
Thank you all so much and I hope you all have the strenght to cope with this.
