Do oral intivirals help? My 9 yr old has herpes of the eye and I use both antiviral drops in her eyes and also use acyclovir. Have 2 Docs arguing over the oral med?

I got pills from the doc for
I got pills from the doc for a cold sore on my lip causing severe pain on the side of my face & was given pills. The pills were to stop it spreading through the nerve & it really helped. The next day the severe pain was gone. Took 4 pills morning then 4 at night & that was all 8 pills total.
