Does this mean I can not have a relationship with someone who doesnt have herpes...
Or what if i want to get married and have children.. is that possible or no?
I married someone who does not have herpes and he was fine with it. I don't know if he has it but if he does he does not get outbreaks. We have kids too. I would just date the person without having sex untill you figure out if you can trust the person that they won't blab it all around town. Tell them more less you want to be friends first and see if your compatable and I would tell anyone before you have sex before your in the moment too. I would get tested to make sure that is what you have it is a cold sore in a different spot, it is annoying, for some people more then others, but it is not in any way life stopping unless you let it be. If you have insurance or cash for it, I would say go on anti virals. Lysine has also helped lots of ppl too as have things like olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, red marine algae....
I have had Herpes for about 7 years now. Utterly devastated when I found out. I have ALWAYS been careful about sex but obviously not careful enough. I am happily married now and living with this "disease". Today I experienced absoultely excruciating pain around my knee, in back of my knee, up and down my leg and into my lower back. I thought I had "tweaked" something but now I am beginning to think I am going to have an outbreak! I read a few posts about other people who have experienced the same symptoms....weird. I have been run-down lately and I think this is why I am experiencing these symptoms.
But, I wanted to put it out there that I had a HORRIBLE outbreak about 3 years ago and I was beside myself in pain. I contacted Planned Parenthood and they told me that spraying "Solarcaine" would help ease the pain. Well, my outbreak was so bad that I sprayed the Solarcaine on myself and experienced the most horrible pain ever. However, it did work to help the healing process. Now when I feel an outbreak coming on I use the Solarcaine. It is not anywhere near as painful when used at the first sign of an outbreak and I have had good luck with the Solarcaine preventing the outbreak from debilitating me. I would highly recommend using it!
Also, is anyone else out there experiencing debilitating leg pain as though your leg were on fire??????? Please help, what should I do?
I just read this :
" Today I experienced absoultely excruciating pain around my knee, in back of my knee, up and down my leg and into my lower back."
yip , thats herpes, I've had it for 23 years, this is the warning sign that you are about to get an OB.Its called nerve neuralgia, or prodrome syndrome. My jeans brushing against my leg even hurts, so you are not alone.try not to get run down , stressed out, or drink to much etc..., even finding a new girl friend for me is enough to give me an OB. lol. The pain only lasts ( for me ) 1 to 2 days , if i take the valtrex or any of the other western drugs it lasts a week or so , almost drives me mad, so id rather not take the pills and let the OB take its course and then ( try) to get on with it, i get an average of 1 OB every month.from the time the tingly painful stuff happens till the blister(s) have healed to new skin, dont have sex using that part of your body, whist the skin is symptom free, then its ok to have sex etc, ( safe sex of course) just like a cold sore on someones face.
I've tried alternative medicine, ( I learnt Chinese med to diploma level) but i havent really found any thing that helps except be happy within your self, love who you are and others and try to be relaxed. hope this helps, :-)
I've had genital herpes now for several years, and I accidentally found out that Oregan Oil definitely speeds up healing. I've been using it now for about 4 years and my outbreaks never last more than a few days and do not become severe. My Method: I squeeze enough Oregano Oil to fill an empty gelatin or vegi-capsule and swallow one with water twice a day upon the first sign of an outbreak, which for me is usually a dull pain around the genital or rectal area. Incidentally, I tried to post the benefits of Oregano Oil on a similar forum a few years ago, but I'm pretty sure people thought I was crazy! I'm glad to read that others have found relief with it, too.
FYI, my outbreaks are relatively frequent, and seem to come on when I haven't had enough sleep.
RE LOWER LEG PAIN: for the last 2-3 years I have had unexplainable lower leg pain - both legs from the knees to my feet become extremely painful expecially while lying down. The pain wakes me in the middle of the night, and it's only until very recently that I have come to realize that I think this pain comes only during a herpes outbreak. A few years ago I had had x-rays taken, blood tests and also sonograms to check blood flow in my legs, was also sent to a neurolgoist, but the doctors found no explanation for this pain that comes and goes. After reading some of the reports of leg-pain associated with breakouts, I will now begin tracking this more closely. During my last 2 outbreaks (within 3 months) the leg pain has come during the outbreak and gone away when the outbreak subsides. Most of the reports here though are for lower back and upper-leg pain rather than lower. But there must be something about the virus that can affect certain (random?) nerves which would explain the different symptoms reported.
Any information or comments would be welcome.
Thank you!
Cheers
