herpes simplex 1 versus shingles

i'm 24 female was sexually active w/one partner only, kissing, oral and intercourse in the past . i had chicken pox before as a child. i'm under lots of stress, not immunocomporomised as far as i know. now, i have painful blisters on my right side of chin. so is it herpes or shingles? will a viral culture and blood tests for hsv help?
