Doctor Acted Strange
In August, my husband of 9 years went to the doctor for his yearly. While he was there, they asked if he wanted a all test run including std tests. He told them that it would be OK, since ge had not been tested in 8 or 9 years. A week later all test came back good. Yesterday, my husbands doctors office called and said that a herpes test came back and that it is positive. My husband immediatly went to the dr's office to find out what she was talking about and the nurse proceeded to tell him that she did not know why the test just now came in but the herpes could have been lying dormant for years. She told him that stress could also cause the test to show positive. My husband demanded another test to be taken. She told him that "that is life and sometimes it isn't fair, take home this information on herpes". I recently had a hysterectomy and was totally checked for all std's at my doctors office and I was negative on everything. It seems strange that neither him or myself have not had any symptoms or outbreaks in 9 years. Is this possible to have a test come back positive like this?
Any information will help,
Thanks

blood test
I had small painful paper looking cuts on my vaginal area. My doctor just looked at them and said it was recurrent herpes. He never took a culture of them, just a visual. With that I decided to get blood work done for STD's. I came up positive for hsv1, which at times in stressful moments will get small ulcers in my mouth.Never a fever blister. My question is, is that everytime I check this out on a site wether it be hsv1 or 2 the sores always look more like blisters not cuts.I'm wondering if this is really genital herpes that I have. I've asked the doctor but I'm wondering if maybe he made a mistake and doesn't want to tell me.He also gave me Valtrex which did absolutely nothing to help.
