How Do I Really Know if I have Herpes?
Recently i have had very itchy and burning lesions on my thighs, and my thighs only. It looks like a rash but for some reason my doctor thinks its Herpes. I dont know if my current boyfriend gave it to me, or if its because i had a cold sore about 3 weeks ago and now I have my doctor telling me its herpes. I did not know this and this past weekend, my boyfriend and i had sex while i had this 'rash'. Could i have possibly given it to him, or could he have given it to me from before. We have been having sex without a condom for around 4 months and he is the ONLY guy i have had unprotected sex with. He says he has only been with 2 other people in a intercourse situation. But i am not even sure how i talk to him about this without him getting angry at me.
I dont know if my doctor is right, these spots on my thighs are only on my thighs and they do not look like the lesions that i have seen in herpes photos.
I need someone to give me advice and any info they can give me. i am not sure how to deal with this, i am freaked out!!.

If your doctor thinks its herpes him or her is probably correct. If you had sex while this "rash" was present then you very well could have passed it on to your boyfriend and he should be on the look out for symptoms in the near future and see a doctor as soon as he does.
Keep in mind that even with proper condom usage you could still possibly give this to your boyfriend so you will have to talk to him about that and your doctor to make sure you don't spred this to him.

I dont think that she is correct, honestly doctors aren't always right, herpes is commonly misdiagnosed by doctors, she said she wont be sure unless i have another rash like this one.
There are alot of things that look like Herpes and she didnt test me she just assumed that it was.
should i go to another doctor and see if they say something different?
What i want to know is HOW i got this.
And if i didnt get a breakout before this is it possible that my boyfriend gave it to me since this is my first breakout?.
I am just very doubtful that i have it. Im sure it is something else
But i would like some more information on what else it could be.
