does my girlfriend have herpes?

I have been seeing this girl for about a month and iv noticed what looks like excema on her arms neck ect. but thats not what bothers me. What does is the other day i noticed she has weird bumps on her legs and iv herd she was with a guy that may have herpes.
I'm not sure how i should ask her what is on her leg and we haven't had sexual intercourse yet so if she does have herpes hopefully i wont be infected.
If she doesn't know what the bumps are should i imply on taking her to the clinic?
Can you get herpes from kissing?
