How come not from kissing?

Hey,

I was wondering if any one could answer my question. I've been with my girlfriend for about 2 years before we had any oral sex. Recently she has been dignoised with
Genital Herpes. I don't have Genital Herpes but I do have Oral. I was wondering if any one knew why for the 2 years before the oral sex the herpes never transmitted to her mouth and only went on her gentals.
