Viral Shedding - Help
Okay, first the facts I believe as I understand them. The virus doesn't pass thru tough skinned areas, ie., the buttocks. This is why it is not passed via a toilet seat. It is passed through mucusal membranes like the vaginal, urethra, or a break in the skin. The virus retreats into the nerve ganglion. It will reoccur in the same area it was transmitted in, or in the surrounding area that shares the same nerve pathway, this is why it can occur on and area gentials. It is possible to be infected and not have an outbreak. Therefore, also viral shedding is likely to occur in the same areas of break out or area of transmission. A healthy immune system, low stress, good diet high in lysine can help to prevent the virus from replicating itself and coming to the surface again, if ever. Of course antiviral meds do the same thing. Having H1 first can actually help prevent an outbreak due to having the antibodies in your system first. H1 likes to settle in the nerve ganglion in the upper spine, H2 likes the ganglion in the lower spine. Outbreaks decrease over time due to fact the antibodies fight it off, and each time there is outbreak and virus comes to surface, just cleaning area, OTC meds etc, kill and prevent less of the virus to retreat back along nerve. The big problem with this virus is its ability to replicate, but as before, meds, diet, low stress, etc help to keep it from doing this.
Okay, so my question, being a person that has never had an H2 outbreak, thinks it was very unlikely transmission was from break in skin, therefore, I believe my getting this would have had to been through the mucousa of the vaginal and semen and/or viral shedding on my partners part. So, if I do not have outbreaks, take the antiviral meds, and do everything possible to keep this monster from replicating and shedding. How safe is it for me to recieve oral sex, kiss someone, perform oral sex. Of course, I plan on telling my partners, and will use condoms. Just want to know if I am in for a life of using condoms, dental dams and feeling scared when I kiss someone, obviously, assuming I am in a LTR and the other person is aware of risk and is comfortable. How likely would it be that I spread this.
