still have symptomes

ok, so i had mono last October, but because i worked at a clinic and most of the clinic's events were in October and November i didnt get to see a doctor until December. it seemed like i got rid of it about 2 weeks after i was my doctor, but then about 3 months later i felt the same symptoms again... now a year later i feel like i have fallen again. i have been on birth control for over 2 years now, can i still have mono? and does the birth control have anything to do with it?
