Sufferer for a long time
I just read some of the postings on the site and I have a lot of empathy for some of the long-term sufferers who do not experience relief. This is a nasty virus and it seems to work differently in every body. I have had the virus for over 15 years and do not take medication because, apart from the side effects, I have heard that the virus can develop resistance to these medications over time, which is no real solution. Like others with this problem, I am searching for the magic bullet treatment program. For a while, my symptoms had diminised (2x per year), but for the last several years, my outbreaks have become more frequent (once every 1 to 3 months). I do not have bad outbreaks, it's simply the persistence and tenaciousness of the outbreaks that make me nuts. Initially, when I first contracted the virus, my sores were so small as to resist diagnosis with the swab test (I tested negative 3 times). Since the time that a partner became infected several years ago(we are still friends -- I told him that I might be a carrier), my breakouts have become more frequent again. I have tried Coraphor, which shortened my outbreaks dramatically, but did not make them go away. I have also tried the product from the amoils.com site, which kept me outbreak-free while I was on the homeopathic program, but the cost (200.00/6 week supply) is prohibitive. Lysine does not do jack crap for me. There are many more 'natural' products that I have been tempted to try, especially since I have no faith in the prescription treatment varieties (I have no faith in BigPharma since the health initiative that is of real concern for these over-sized corporations is their bottom line), but finding real research to support claims is tricky. If any one has had success with some of the other treatments that are out there (EvrClr3, Oxi-Med, aeura, Herpigen, Herp-eeze, etc), I would love to hear about your experience.

I was just like you do yourself a favour and get anti virals. Seriously I have outbreaks pretty constant and have not had one since I started anti virals 7 months ago. Dr. beck looks interesting as far as natural goes, google him and herpes.

I have a friend who uses red marine algea. Reading up on it, looks promising. She says it works pretty great but it's like 30 bucks a bottle. you can get it at the health food store.

I know, I have just spent lots of money on alt. treatments with no real luck, except with the acyclovir. If you take then just when you feel symptoms it will throw off outbreak, you don't always have to be on it. downlad and read vchapter one really interesting. Looks super promising, along with bob beck as I stated before. I have alot had decent results with oregano oil, less frequent and way tamer outbreaks, Lysine didn't so anything for me but has helped many others, coconut oil didn't do anything for me, having a perfect diet didnt seem to help all that much, though i do avoid chocolate and nuts except hemp and flax.
