ALL AT ONCE....

Hi There,

So i have been under more stress than ever and because of it i have been sick for about two months. At first when i went to the doctors they said i had strep throat and treated me with antibiotics. when it didn't go away the doctor said i had blisters in my throat and tested me for everything except herpes. I'm not sure if i actually had herpes in my throat but a few days ago i broke out with herpes on my lips, in my nose AND down south!!!! i have no clue how this could have happened, i have never even had a cold sore before, I know i need to de-stress but this just seems like too much for me. The doctor gave me cream and valtrex and am trying to work on my diet although i can harldy eat at all these days. i tend to get strep throat a lot and i'm scared that i'm going to have breakouts every month. does this mean that if i have a breakout i'm going to break out everywhere each time??? do you know what strain of Herpes i have if i'm getting them everywhere???

Hmm, I don't know what

Hmm, I don't know what strain, I would think and this is just a guess maybe type one. The reason I say that is I think it is more likely you touched your face then down there. Wow that sounds horrible, my heart goes out to you. Generally where you break it is where you are going to break out, in my experience anyway. I have been on acyclovir for the past 8 months, and I have had no outbreaks since and they had been right on each other prior. I believe there is ways to overcome this virus, but the tricky thing with herpes is alot of times what might work for one person doesn't for another. Herpes.com has a list of foods to eat and avoid if you have herpes. Maybe you should check that out. I will warn you when it is your first episode your body does not have the antibodies it will in future attacks, so this is the time it would be super easy to spread to other parts of your body (which may explain what happened to you). Try not to touch sore directly and if you do wash REALLY GOOD with soap and water right away!!! Hang in there the outbreaks do get less severe as time goes on, and your immune system is key in fighting this virus, I would make a point to get to bed at a good time, and to exercise regularly, I am so bad on the late nights myself, but I am working on those. I did also send you a message too, so maybe go check that out. I hope you get through this first episode quickly.

thanks niki i have another

thanks niki i have another question about the diet though. i was looking at herpes.com and the chart showing what foods to eat. its all milk and cheese and i'm vegan. because i avoid these foods altogether does that mean i'll be prone to more episodes?

no I don't see why it would,

no I don't see why it would, just eat lots of fruits and veggies that are listed on the chart. With herpes your supposed to avoid most nuts and seeds as they are high in arginine, which could pose a problem for you if you use those to get alot of your protien from. That said both hemp and flax seeds are helpful if you have herpes so I would eat those if I was you. In all honesty though you can have a perfect diet and still get outbreaks and you can have a really shitty diet and get none. It is such an individual thing, how this virus effects ppl. Many don't even know they have herpes they get such milk or no outbreaks. I was just reading the other day somewhere on the net I forget that one person thought people with O positive blood have a harder time with this virus, and I have had a pretty hard go, and I am O positive, so maybe things we don't even think about play a part too.

hmmm i wonder what blood

hmmm i wonder what blood type i am! I have been doing a lot of reading and i guess i'll just have to chill out and get through this first round to see whats gonna happen next! I don't know if i'm going to be a person with frequent breakouts or not. today i'm going to get some Lysine and red marine algae to see if that will help. i can take it even though i'm still on valtrex right? I am going to pray that this is my first and last outbreak but i guess its more of a waiting game! just gotta go on with life, eat healthy and take time for myself as to not stress too much.

Yes Lysine didn't do much

Yes Lysine didn't do much for me, but like I said it is such a specific disease and many ppl have good results with it, just be aware after time it inhibits your immune system, so if you take it, I would look further into that, just to be safe. Yes my understanding is that Lysine anyway is safe while on acyclovir, so I think it would be the same with valtrex, would think the red marine alge is fine too, but don't know for sure. I hope it works for you.
