Hi: I have cold sores going on and off for 6 years, once a year. My question is: how I got it? I never share nothing with anybody, no food, drinks, anything, even as a child. The only thing maybe when I got my makeup done in the beauty salon for my graduation like 6-7 years ago or when I was in 4th grade I had a severe eye infection. I have been with my boyfriend for 5 years(my only boyfiend, the only one I ever kiss), I don't want to affect him, when I have and outbreak, I wash my hands a lot, clean everything I touch, etc. I feel very bad thinking that the people in the street judge me, I work in a Hospital and having a outbreak is horrible, trying to hide it. Why it happen to me, being careful all my life didn't help. Can I get some advice, please.

I ask myself the same question. Sorry darling I can't help. Maybe you should consider antivirals for when you have an ob so that it goes away faster or if you catch it fast enough maybe it wont' be an issue at all... Don't stress about it. It's not that bad :)

it won't help you... Seriously consider valtrex :) How? H is highly contageous. I don't know.. Do you kiss your friends and family on the cheek when you see them? I am not even sure what is the chance of getting H through that but maybe. Look, you have HSV1 or HSV2? I know it's on your face but it could be that yours is HSV2 though via my research if you had HSV2 "upstairs" you would not be getting frequent ob's. Honestly do yourself a favor and take antivirals to stop the ob's. If you are one of those that does not believe in popping pills there are other remedies but...If valtrex is safe while being pregnant what damage can it do you? not more than pollution I suppose.

For the first time, after denial all this years, I went to the doctor she recommended Valtrex, thank for the hint, but the outbreak was a couple of days ago, so now I can't use it, but I have it for next time, I hope for next year or never. And yes, I always kiss my friends and family in the cheek, even my friends at college, maybe was that?I don't know. I don't know what type I have is on my lips in the corner, actually I never test it, pathology or blood, i don't know if hsv2 or hsv1.
