First timer here, and i have a question.
I am 23 years old, every year I get my bloodwork to make sure everything is well. This time, the doctor told me I am positive for herpes II, which I understand as genital herpes. This is the first time they have run this test as it was new for my doctors office to run this. The doctor explained to me that I was exposed to the virus. Everything that i have read online says that after being exposed to the virus the breakout comes 2-14 days later. I have never had any of these symptoms i am reading about. Is it possible for a faulty test or are there cross reactions to anything. I just don't understand having herpes and never having any symptoms. Is this possible, i know i am young and was for the most part ignorant to alot of std's but i want to know. Any advice or answer you can supply would be wonderful.
Thanks all for your responses.

wow..
i can so relate to you darling. I am also 23 and was diagnosed wh hsv2 nearly a year ago ...sux.. i retook teh exam and it was still showing antibodies.. i wish it was a dross refernece to anything but i highly doubt that one. i have never had any symptoms either nothing at all... I have never been ignorant to any std's... I waswh a boy for 3 years and G_D knows what happened but I know i must have gotten it from him... so the answer to your question is that yes you can have HSV2 w/o any symptoms whatsoever .. this simply means that your immune sysytem is keeping it in check...like mine (thank G_D)... some ppl live their whole lives not knowing they have it ...
