Herpes Doctor

Hi, I am 29 years old and just had a baby on Feb 12. My neck started hurting me early last week, I thought I pinched a nerve from carrying the baby on my left side. I noticed 1 pimple like sore on my sideburn area but thought nothing of it. My newborn was up against that side of my face and neck as that is where I hold her. Then I broke out really bad Wednesday night, went to the ER Thursday morning and was diagnosed with shingles. I have been under a great deal of stress the past several months (my husband tore his achilles tendon and had surgery two days before my c-section, he still is unable to walk). I was started on Valtrex that day. I am staying away from my newborn and not touching her which is hard. She is 6 weeks old tomorrow and I am very concerned she is going to get this from me. My question is how long do I have to stay away from her? What are the chances that she could have gotten chicken pox from me and from being against my rash? How long will this rash last? Not all of it is postules, some of it is just rash that is not getting pussy or scabbing over? I need to know when it is safe to touch her and feed her again. I also have a 4 year old son that I am not touching either. HELP!!!!!
