Oral Herpes
Hi, I am 28 yrs male, I acquired cold sores, when i was travelling in flight few months back,then i found i had a small bump on the left of my upper lip. I went to the doctor i was told i had herpes, I was shocked to hear that, becuase i never had any sexual relationship before nor i had kissed any one, the doctor told me it is an STD. he gave me some kind of an acid which to be applied on the bump, it fell of in 2 days, once the bump fell i could see the bump coming again on the same day, the bump is there for almost 2 months, now i am really confused whether it is really herpes, becuase that i did not have any relationship before, the bump on my lips is dry and there is no presence of reddish or white head, it is just present in the colour of my lips only.
I also got an emloyment in abu dhabi, I am leaving soon, i heard that i need to undergo medical examination, if i had herpes will it disqualify my medical examination test. Please do let me know about it.
Also I would really like to know whether it is herpes and medication for the bump i am having. Currently i am applying Zorivax.

you describe it as a "bump", is it a bump or a blister? Because usually herpes causes blisters, although the first time I got one on my lip it look like it could have been a wart. I hoped that it is was a wart but it ended up "weeping" and thats when I knew it had to be a cold sore. They weep a goldish color fluid. If your doc took a blood test or swab from the sore than he is mostly likely right in his diagnosis, but I dont put much faith in doctors. I had one doctor tell me that my cold sore was just a zit, I said ok well why does this zit keep coming back every few months. I wish I would have asked her to touch it if she was so confident that it was just a zit, I think she just didnt want to work that day. I was using zorivax for a while and it really shortened the length of my outbreaks, I had one completely disappear in like five days. I would keep using it but it is so expensive. What was the acid that the doc put on it? That sound like something you'd use for a wart. That really sucks that you didnt even have contact with anyone:( Did you share any drinks, cigarettes, or anything? Does it hurt? or tinggle? I hope that you figure out what is soon and find a way to get rid of it and I hope that it ends up not been hvs. I wish you the best of luck and keep me posted if you can. I'll pray for you.

hi, thanks for the reply, its not a blister it is a bump, because it does not contain any fluid into the bump, just a dry bump, the doctor has not taken any kind of blood test for the confirmation to be told as herpes, i am not sure about the acid name, may be i will try to ask him about it, the bump does'nt hurt me or tinggle me , it just like an skin overgrowth.
Also try to let me know incase i have herpes could i clear my medical examinations, that for the employement in abu dhabi.

Oral herpes lesions (cold sores) usually cause tingling and burning just prior to the break out of the blisters. The blisters themselves can also be painful.
maybe you don't have Herpes
maybe you don't have Herpes simplex one after all. Get a blood test and there you will find your answer.

is there another way 2 get oral herpes than kisses and sex cause i never done none of that but still have cold sores. yes, i know for a fact its a cold sore.
