Tanning booth Herpes???

I was told a decade ago by a doctor in the emergency room that the huge herpe on my cheek and chin and nose was contracted by a tanning booth. He specifically asked me if I had been tanning within 3 days and I said yes. P.S. I was not sexually active at the time. He also said the the disinfectants they used to clean the beds did not kill the herpe virus. No one believes me, can this be true? Or, can genital herpes be spread to the face???

What is the risk
I truely adhor this man I am seeing. We have not had sex yet because he has Genital Herpes. We want children. What is the risk of getting genital herpes if he is taking Valtrex daily without a condom and with a condom and can he take it for long periods of time and what is happing with HERPEVAC??? I feel so selfish in thinking about leaving the relationship because he has this. Ugh, this is hard!!!

I thought I left a comment. Basically you could meet someone who has herpes and doesn't know and give you oral and you could get it like that if he had cold sores, or a guy might not know he has gintal herpes and pass it to you. Nothing is gauranteed in life. I would say think twice becauseso may people have either herpes 1 or 2. If he is on antivirals I would say your chances are cut down hugely, I would work on your own immune system making it as strong as you can.

As far as i know H can not
As far as i know H can not be caught from a pillow, tanning bed, and any dead objects, e.g non human, it must have contact from skin to skin, you may have contacted it years ago and it has remained dormant in your body since and only just come out, this can happen.as far as disinfectants killing the H i don't know, but i know H can not live on a non live host.hope this helps
