what is the risk?

On April 10th, 2008 questions says:
I truely adhor this man I am seeing. We have not had sex yet because he has Genital Herpes. We want children. What is the risk of getting genital herpes if he is taking Valtrex daily without a condom and with a condom and can he take it for long periods of time and what is happing with HERPEVAC??? I feel so selfish in thinking about leaving the relationship because he has this. Ugh, this is hard!!!

I would say very low, but still there nonetheless, I would think twice about leaving the realationship thought, because so many ppl have had a coldsore in their life, will not tell you, possible give you oral sex and *could* be shedding the virus. There is no way to be 100% safe, if you stay or if you leave. only 20% of ppl who have genital herpes know, so you could move on to someone who thinks they don't have it and they really do.

If you really like this man, then don't split up with him, at least he is honest enough to tell you first, therefore he will say when he has an outbreak, and the chances you getting it is slim and long as you don't have contact with that part of his body with the outbreak during any tingly feeling to when the blisters are healed up.to many ppl get dumped for this reason and end up single most of their lives.hope this helps
