Oral Herpes or Angular Cheilitis!
Two weeks ago I was teaching swimming lessons and I noticed that this 3 year old boy had some cracks around his mouth. I chalked it up to being dry skin, and kept on teaching. However while I was teaching the freakin' kid spit in my face, I was pissed! A week later I noticed that my mouth was getting dry, yet I figured that it had something to do with me having Hyperthyroidism. That is until I noticed a burning sensation around my face, and splits on the right side of my mouth. "Rage can not define!"
It is now two weeks later and....my lips are slight swollen, my mouth is dry, I have a painful red sore at the bottom of my gums, I have tiny like white/yellow bumps on both sides ( top and bottom )of the angles of my mouth, burning from my cheek and chin, sour breath, and a swollen lump on my top lip. WTF!
My friends and family are completely baffled, we can only deduce that I caught herpes from this kid. I don't date and I'm celibate, so contracting it from any form of intimacy is TOTALLY out of the question. This is totally humiliating, and scary! People are doubting my virtue, and making jokes. In addition, I'm scared that it is going to get worse from all the burning and tingling I feel. My mom is like it is no big deal, but she is not the one that has asthma, heart problems, hyperthyroidism, eczema, and NOW THIS! I did go online to investigate, but I can't figure it out. It looks like angular cheilitis, but feels like herpes simplex 1. After this swimming session is over, I refuse to teach EVERY AGAIN!!!!!
1. Is this herpes? If it isn't is it angular cheilitis?
2. If it is herpes, and it is not from the kids spit, where else could I have contracted it?
3. What should I do while I waiting to see a doctor?

vitamin E cream is soothing.
vitamin E cream is soothing. You could also put tea tree oil on it. go to a walk in clinic? and get topical acyclovir cream if it is herpes. Get those herpes lip ointments at drug store, that is too bad, sorry if that is what it is :(
