herpes tests

I am very confused and help is appreciated. My last girlfriend was diagnosed with HSV 2 while we were dating. I was tested right away and it came back negative. I realize this was probably too soon anyway so was tested again soon after we broke up (about 1 month after the last time we slept together). This also came back negative. At that point I had never had any symptoms. Since then there have been occasions, about every 3-5 months, when I will get a burning sensation in my thighs, around my pelvis, never on my genitals. I also get some sharp shooting pain into my legs and feet. The most recent occurance was accompanied with feeling a little tired and some back pain. I still have never had a lesion of any sort. I was tested again last October and again a negative result and this is the first time I have felt the symptoms again. The tests were all for antibodies (IgGs) specific for types 1 and 2. I see my symptoms listed on many websites but as a self admitted hypochondriac I don't know if these symptoms are in my head or not. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.
