Born with herpes?

for as long as i can remember i have had little bumps on my penis. I have never had sex and am 16. i think i have herpes, because ocationally it will itch and i do have bumps. the only problem is that i don't have outbreaks, i always have these bumps. i am also getting a little more serious with my girlfriend. what should i do?

I would go to the doctor

I would go to the doctor when you have the symptoms, and in all honesty I would talk to mom, if she had genital herpes when you were born then you could have contracted it when and if you can through the birth canal. If you have not have sex before I would say you definetly are at a super low risk for herpes. I would ask mom if I was you though. Also if by getting serious means getting sexual, which I am assuming it does, I want you to know if your girlfriend gets cold sores, she could pass you herpes that way(oral sex), and only 20% of ppl who have herpes know, and a condom does not cover all areas that you would be in contact with a girl, so I would say make sure the person/ppl in life you have sex with are worth it, because I will tell you catching something like this is definetly someting you want to avoid if possible. I would also say prior to having sex with a new parter make sure you both get screened for STD's. IF your bumps are always there, to me that does not sound like herpes the way I know it. Maybe jock itch? get checked out for peace of mind.
