Herpes Doctor

I have had herpes for about 13 years.....I've had a really hard time with it, frequent outbreaks, frequent symptoms...they have diminished in severity over the years but I have the leg pain alot....which makes me very paranoid about an outbreak, and I look and look for sores but there aren't any visible....I have been taking Valtrex for a good many years...however not consistantly....at first I would take it at the first symptom, always the leg/groin pain....which helped...but because of the frequency of outbreaks my doctor told me to try taking it daily as a surpressive. I have tried this a number of times....but this is what happens and this is my question to all of you who take it regularly....I get a sharp pain in my genitals..very similar to an onset of an outbreak, but nothing ever forms...just a constant ache...this is very frustrating, the medication is expensive and I still dont have peice of mind with a constant tingle...Has anyone ever had this problem with Valtrex? Also does the leg pain always mean an outbreak is coming or is it just nerve damage? Help!!
