Breastfeeding

I was wondering if you can pass the virus to your baby through breastfeeding. I have a open sore on my nipple that's very tiny but painful from breastfeeding, it's not an outbreak but i was wondering if you can still pass it through a cut? Thanks.

If you get herpes outbreaks

If you get herpes outbreaks on your nipples, then yes you can pass it, but if it is a cut on your breast unrelated to herpes, then no you can't. Baby would have to come into direct contact with a sore to catch it.
