Yes
What's sad is that genital herpes (type 2) can be passed through kissing someone that has that version on their lips. Although you wont have the virus in your genitalia, you will have that type on your lips.
By the way, even "technical virgins" can get genital herpes through close body contact or intimate touching.

Kissing and Genital Herpes
Hi,
If your friend has Genital Herpes ONLY (and not Oral Herpes also known as cold sores), then you are fine to kiss him. Genital Herpes is only contagious from the place where the lesions are. This means that you can get it if you have intercourse or perform oral sex (the you can get Oral Herpes) on your friend.
Hope this clears thing up for you, Read more on our Herpes FAQ page.
Kind regards,

Hello
Excellent!!! !
Genital HSV1 and kissing
I only have GH type 1 (only as in I dont have oral herpes). I am so confused, is the virus in my saliva? Also I itch constantly - I have for 2 years since getting this. Although I have only had 1 outbreak that I know of. My new partner is terrified of getting it and seems to think that I can carry it in my saliva.
I am very unhappy. Please help.
