Herpes Doctor

Hi sad,

It is a little peculiar, I must say, but not unheard of. Genital Herpes can affect the nerves, which could explain your soreness in leg and penis. Shingles, another Herpes virus, damages nerve ends and causes great skin pain - not to say that you have shingles, but it does exhibit similar pain to those you are experiencing. Saying that, I would still recommend that you insist that your dotor takes these pains seriously, as it might be something else - or nothing.

I was told by my doctors office that herpes
can cause leg pain. A very heavy ache.
I also did experience this.

I can say that I had the worst leg pain ever. It lasted for about two months and then finally went away. The only thing that kept my legs from hurting so bad was motrin. If you are having leg pain I can definitely sympathize with you.

I definitely had leg pain about a month before my first outbreak. I have gone to two doctors and received about 0 information in regards to this disease. I was prescribed Valtrex and rushed out the door. I'm hopeing to find a websight in which I can talk to other victims of this disease and get some much needed advice. Thanks for listening.Julie

I have had herpes since I was 20, I am now 26 and leg pain has many times indicated to me I am getting a sore. It feels kind of tingly and sore and sometimes I would describe it like someone was grabbing my leg, but putting both their hands around it. Sucks I know, but it is definetly a symptom for me. not everytime, but sometimes.

There is definitely a shooting nerve pain just before an outbreak...a bit like mild sciatica, I would say. I have read that you can get sores anywhere between the knees and the waist!! 8-(
Mostly, my pain comes in my lower back pre-breakout.

Just before I get an outbreak I get a burning-aching pain in my left hip that runs all the way down my left leg. Even my knees hurt. I also have it on the left side of my tongue and the last two times I've had outbreaks I've gotten a bad ear ache in my left ear. I usually only get outbreaks when I'm bad and eat too much chocolate

I have been having this "pain" on and off. It comes and goes most of the time my pain is in the vulva area or the behind. Has anyone experienced this? The doctor says it is not very common.

I have leg pain. I just had my first outbreak. Now that I just read this I realized that my leg pain is a sign that an outbreak may be coming. Thanks I will keep track of this. Hopefully I will never have another outbreak this one was really bad.

i get leg pains EVERY time. Tell your doctor not to laugh at you.
