Red patch on inner legs = Genital Herpes?

Hi there and I'm so glad I found this place.

I have had a few unprotected sex encounters (very stupid) about 5 or 6 partners in the last 4 years.

About a year and a half ago I had been with one of them and a few days after, I noticed some irritation in my genital area. On the inside of my two legs there is about a 7" in diameter red patch with a few spots on the outside of the patch which has grew slightly bigger overtime. The patch has really never went away properly. Maybe died down for a few days, few weeks (varies). Also this morning I checked my genital sac and found a few tiny scabs which i scratched and they came off and now I'm gettin a kinda burning sensation but more tingly than burning. Can this be genetal herpes?

I hope it's not as I don't think I could get another girlfriend with having it. Actually telling someone terrifies me even thinking about it.

I finished a long term relationship last May (4 years - first love) and have been heavily depressed and my mum and sis moved to USA only family i have in Scotland 6 months previously and I've been smoking cannibas daily for about 4 years. Could this be the reason I've constantly had this red patch (if u think it's Genital herpes) because of paranoia, depression, low self esteem and bad diet? (was hardly eating much for a while)

Also one last thing. When i shine a light on my genitals (for self inspection) the patch seems wrinkled a little compared to my skin outside the patch which has no wrinkles at all (im 24) plus it seems to look sometimes looks like it's got a white (like dry skin) when i look down on it from directly above. I am going to the gum clinic Monday morning but I'd like some advice if anyone can help me. I'm totally stressed about this and it could ruin my life. I've already got a low self esteem as it is because of my past and I don't know if I could cope with this just now.

I'm not quite sure what it is that you have. It sounds more like a skin condition than Genital Herpes, maybe some sort of fungus (I've had something similar between my breasts and I got some ointment form my doctor and it was gone in a week).

I don't think that your lifestyle can be the cause of this red patch, but I can say for certain that you are more prone to catching various illnesses if you immune defence system is low due to a not so healthy lifestyle. Also, smoking hash daily for 4 years is more than likely the cause of your low self esteem, paranoia and depression.

Go see your doctor, book a double appointment and tell him everything you said in this post. He won't judge you, but he will be able to diagnose the red patch and maybe refer you to a psychologist. I'm not saying that you are mentally ill or something, but I think it would be good if you talked to a professional.

If you are six months get pregnant go get tested asap especially if you are in canada where I am my docs ays they dont do blood tests. (in my area anyway) SO if you are somewhere where they don't do blood tests you would need a swab, so go asap because if you wait till the redness is gone, they wouldn't be able to do the swab of the area. If could be lots of things, but you need to go asap for your baby! (today if possible) I have had a baby with me having genital herpes and my baby is fine, it is when docs don't know what they are working with the baby is in real danger. Good luck. If thats what it is they are precautions that can be taken and your baby should be just fine,but you need to figure out what your working with.
