No, there is no cure for chickenpox. Chickenpox is an extremely common
childhood ailment similar to measles and mumps which is impossible to avoid
under normal circumstances. It is estimated that 90% of the
world population have had chickenpox during childhood.

Chickenpox is caused by the
virus Varicella Herpes Zoster which will stay in
your body permanently once you've caught it during the 7-23 day incubation period

remains latent and non-contagious but will reactivate in 1 in 5 seniors and cause
shingles.

There is no Cure for Chickenpox but you can Ease the Symptoms

The symptoms of chickenpox are a rash that turns into blisters which
then turn into a dry scab. This can be seen all over the body and can be
very itchy and painful. Chickenpox is not usually treated as it is a fairly
harmless childhood disease like mumps and measles, but in severe cases or
if you are immunocompromised, an antiviral agent such as Acyclovir or
Famciclovir may be prescribed. This will help fight the virus and reduce
the symptoms and the duration of the illness. You may in all cases ease the
chickenpox symptoms with

• Fever reducing medications
• Pain killers
• Local anesthetic cream
• Lukewarm baths

Essentially, chickenpox is just one of those things that all children will
have to endure at some stage. It doesn't last long and by using some of the above
steps and treatments you can make the outbreak of chickenpox just a little more
bearable.
