What else can it be?
I'm 14. Earlier this year I had sex for the first time...in October.
The guy was VERY promiscuous... but I just wanted to have my first experience.
I was totally lost...and I didn't use protection.
I know a lot of others who had been with him. They seem fine...
I haven't asked questions but they seem fine..
The point is, I've had sex other times too, but I've denied it to
myself so many times I can hardly remember. All times: without protection.
There has been a bump/wart/I don't know NOT on my vagina... but more to
the side. I used to think it as just an ingrown hair..
I used to shave a LOT. But then
another one popped up ...it's not like the other,(pimple-like)...it is
just a bump. It's still NOT on my vagina at all, quite
a ways above it. I started reading articles and I got kind of scared
I haven't had sex in a VERY long time. That was just in the beginning of
the year..when I was going through a weird stage.
But I told my mom that I wanted to see a gyno...and she
immediately started telling me she thinks I have herpes and all that.
(She never saw)
Which a) She didn't get all the details, so I can see how she can assume or b)
she is making me go through a guilt trip. But I'm starting to
think I have herpes after searching online, which would make my life
....nothing. And I don't know what I'd do.
What else can it be besides herpes, if anything?!?
Is there any chance I still can live my life like a normal teenager.
i'm 14!
Can it be something else....not a disease?!
I still have a life ahead of me...I can't let this be herpes.
HELP.

calm down
first of all you need to go see the doctor and they can determine if you have herpes with a swab of the sore and a blood test. THe swab will tell you if the sore is herpes and the blood test will tell if you contracted herpes three months or longer ago. It does not sound like herpes simplex 2. Herpes simplex 2 is painful sores and there would be alot of them, not just one here and then one there a while longer. THe sores can be in the genital area but could also pop up on the buttock and inner leg area. I would assure your mother that you need to see a gyno regardless for your yearly pap and then bring it up with your doctor. There is doctor-patient confidentialty and you can request that your mother not be in the room when you talk to the doctor. You have rights, even at 14. If you have herpes simplex 2 you can still have a normal life with supression therapy. I am a nursing student and one of my patients was having a baby and has been symptom free for over three years when she had her first initial outbreak. I would not worry too much about it. It does not sound like you have herpes at all. SOunds like maybe genital warts which is much worse. You need to be more worried abo9ut having protected sex from now on. I hope this scared you into being more cautious. Go see the doctor to set your mind at ease. Tell your mother that you are up for your annual pap and see if that will get her to take you. Genital warts can spread fast and if that is what you have, then you need treatment. Herpes even if it is with you for life, does not hurt your reproductive system and your heart. It is the least worse of the STD's. Clymidia and gonnerhea are much worse. PROTECT YOURSELF FROM NOW ON!!
you can only have one
When my husband caught herpes from me, he only had one sore, so it is possible, also many people with genital herpes never have any symptoms, it varies for different people, and one of the main reason it is underdiagnosed is the people who get very mild symptoms many times brush it off as something else( pimple, ingrown hailr, jock itch..tec). Not to alarm you, you will have to go the the doctors to be sure, but you CAN only get one sore...just ask my husband!!!!!!
it was type 2
p.s we have type 2
Hello
