Herpes Doctor

Hello everyone, you seem to have a knowledgeable base here, please bear with; Around last august [2005], I got my first cold sore which came as a bit of an annoying surprise, the virus must have been living inside of me for my whole life. I waited for the cold sore to complete its various stages and was glad to see it go. Then two weeks or so later, another one formed. So again I waited for the cold sore to tingle, blister, scab and go. As these were my first I wasn't sure what to do, so I just used TCP at the scab stage. Around september time, the whole process started again only instead of scabbing, it remained at the blister stage. My first and second cold sores were both in the exact same place, the top-middle of my upper lip. This blister stage sore was no different, only instead of continuing into a scabbing phase, it has remained at blister stage until this very day [June 2005] and shows no sign of retreating. I have been going through tubes and tubes of various aciclovir creams, I have been taking a lysine a day and I have also tried 'Lomaherpan'; some homeopathic lemon balm remedy I heard good things about on the internet, but it is still at blister. I have maybe 4-5 mini-blisters, clustered on the lip, which look redder or more sore on some days, smaller and less visible on other days. I visited a doctor a few months ago, he mentioned some tablets but back then I thought this may have been a bit drastic, so didn't really gather any further info on what the tablets were. I was just wondering if anyone else has been through this sort of thing, a cold sore lasting much, much longer than the typical 10 day cycle? Thanks for any info.
