co-workers

Hello all, I recently became concerned about a co-worker who had an open cold sore and went looking through one of my books at work (a book I use frequently every day). Normally I would not be so concerned, but I watched him scratching his cold sore while flipping through the pages of my book. He was really fingering his sore as he was in deep thought and I don't suspect that he was doing it consciously. I know that the virus is only suppose to be transmitted from skin to skin contact, but should I take some precaution of trying to disinfect the book? And how would I go about doing this? Could I put it in a microwave or oven for a bit?

Thanks,

Chris

I think they say something

I think they say something like in 8 hours tops the virus dies. (and that would only happen in a warm wet towel, if at all) look it up on the net, how long the virus servives, I think you are fine with no precautions, especially since it has probably been a while, I would be worried though if he touched a sore and touched a certain part of the page and then you put your your skin with a break in it on the exact same spot right after him,(I'm talking seconds here) which I am sure didn't happen, I think your fine, look it up to feel good about it yourself though.
