Herpes Doctor

hi all, today i have had pain and discomfort in the same arm that i had a herpetic whitlow infection in 3 years ago (on thumb). i am scared to death that it is going to recur again. i had pretty much the same symptoms last time,tingling sort of numb and moving around the entire arm into my wrist an fingers. i remember feeling this way for almost 1 week the last time. then the rash finally showed up. as a precaution i started myself on valtrex a few days ago (500mg day) because i had the feeling it was going to surface again. i don't have any outbreaks on my mouth currently nor have i had any for a while now. advil isn't helping either. last night i really didnt feel well had chills and thought i was having some kind of allergic reation so i took 2 benedryl and went to bed. today tried to ignore symptoms but tonight just cannot do so. please help i really can't find much info on whitlow. thanks, hsv
