Some good local news for residents of British Columbia, Canada – The province has hired BioLytical Laboratories to develop a combined, instant STI test that involves just a finger prick and will tell the user in 60 seconds if they test positive for HIV, herpes, or syphilis. The best part is, the kit doesn't have to go back to a laboratory.
The new testing kits should be ready to go public by late 2011.
