I recently had a bad night that consisted of alcohol and unprotected sex. I know she doesn't have any type of herpes but I had a cold sore that was in the scab and falling off stage. I somewhat remember giving her oral then had unprotected sex. I know cold sores are always contagious especially when it blisters and seeps fluid but how about the scab stage and falling off stage. If I were to cause her to have genital herpes at that point then have unprotected sex right after oral, how fast does it spread? Would I have genital herpes now?

Hi I had questions about a condition I have had for about 2 weeks now & just wanted to know if anyone had similar experiences.

I rarely ever get acne but I have recently been getting outbreaks especially around my chin area. I had this one pimple below my lip on the left side but not on this lip itself. I had put salycylic acid on it to try and dry it up. Unfortunately it only made my skin turn into a dry patch with the pimple bump still under it. I have a habit of picking my face so i ended up trying to peel the dry skin off and it kind of made my skin really raw. I then took a needle and tried to pop the pimple and squeeze anything out of it even though it had no visible head. Nothing came out. Maybe a day later the sore kind of turned into what I thought was a cold sore. There were a few small blisters not too close together on the area that was really itchy. I've had cold sores a lot when I was a child so I thought thats what it was. The only difference is that it healed really fast when I was younger. It healed a little after a few days a turned into just a light pink blotch that looked like a scar. So i then put vitamin e oil on it to help with the healing. The next day I woke up and the site was itchy again and another bump(s) formed. It didnt really look like a bunch of cluttered blisters but rather three bigger blisters put together. I went to doctor and he said it could be impetigo and prescribed mupirocin. I'm currently on my first day of using it and it still itches and looks the same.
Also the one of the blisters looks like it has a white head sort of like a pimple
Questions:
1. Do cold sores usually recur in the same exact spot right after healing or is there usually a break in between outbreaks?
2. Does a cold sore have to be on your mouth or connected to it?
3. Could a cold sore last forever?
4. Could it be impetigo even though it doesn't look really yellow colored like impetigo usually does?
5. Could the white head probably mean that it is an infection such as impetigo?

Hi there, I know next to nothing about herpes so I know I'm going to sound like my subject line. I'm concerned about contracting herpes from my partner. We're still relatively new dating, and she has a current cold sore outbreak. I'm a little concerned because she wasn't going to tell me about it until I asked, and she touches her nose(where she has a current outbreak, its in the ring on the nostril) a lot and then uses my computer and touches my cat and stuff.

I'm concerned because she doesn't seem concerned. I know that between 60% - 90% of the population has this, but it doesn't mean I still wouldn't prefer to take caution not to get it. Tonight she wants me to come over so she can cook me dinner. She also wants me to stay the night so I can try out her fantastic breakfast.

My questions are :

1. Should i be worried about her touching me after touching her face with an outbreak?
2. Should I be concerned about her preparing all my food?
3. Should I find a way to not stay the night so we aren't close and touching and cuddling and stuff?

Every few years a cold sore appears on my upper lip. Same place every time.

Is it possible, through finger contact, for me to inadvertantly transfer the herpes from my lip to other parts of my body, such as penis, eyes, nose, throat, etc.?

I recently contracted oral herpes, around the first of the year. I didn't have any convincing symptoms until early February. Since then, I have had nearly constant outbreaks. It has only recently begun to show on my lips, but I have had sores on the inside of my mouth frequently.

It is beginning to look like the sores are many and severe. I'm not looking forward to this at all, to say the least.

I quit smoking cigarettes two days ago, which is likely causing extra stress, but I am starting to wonder if my immune system is compromised. It seems rather ridiculous that I have been plagued by sores for well over a month. I was under the impression that the symptoms become dormant after three weeks.

Can anyone help me to try and find something that will lessen these outbreaks. My daughter is soon going to be twelve. She seems to suffer more attacks in Summer. Poor thing sometimes her both lips are so swollen and painfull she can hardly eat. Ive got those creams that your supposed to use the minuite you feel a tingle but is there anything that i can use or give her to try and avoid these oubreaks? Any replies would be most gratefull.

I recently had an outbreak which turned out to be hsv-1 (by culture) and most likely got it from long time boyfriend who has had cold sores on his mouth for decades. The question is: can he, in turn, contract sores on his genitals from contact with me?

I had oral sex last friday with a girl that I didn't know very well but said she was clean. Well, on monday I felt really sick and on Tuesday it was worse, I had high fever, sore throat, muscle aches, and head ache. Well I went to the doctor and they tested me for Influenza and strep. I results came back and I had influenza type A, basically the flu. Well they put me on Relenza cus I was really bad. Relenza is an inhaler medicine that you have to inhale through your mouth two times a day with two puffs. Well I Take it tuesday for the first time and then Wedensday both times. Well around dinner time I noticed something in my mouth like a cut. I wasn't too worried about it cus it didn't look that bad and it was really little. Well I woke up today and it has gotten bigger. It has a red ring around it with a white middle oval thing like a pimple. Its then I start feeling very itchy and I find a rash around my thighs and up to my hips. I look around and find that the rash is on my arms going from my armpit to my hand. Then it goes on my ribs. I go to the doctor and he says its an allergic reaction of the meds that I was taking. He said quit the meds and the rash will probably go away. So I come back from the doctor and I noticed two more of these sores in my mouth but not in the same spot. One was on my cheeck and the other one was on my inner upper lip. (The first one was on my inner lower lip. I started freaking out and looking for every little thing I could find. They kinda look like a canker sore but they also could look like herpes. I am extremely stressed out right now and am going back to the doctor tomorrow morning but was wondering if someone could help me out a little. I was wondering do oral herpes clump together or are they spread out like what I have. Can they be canker sores cus of me being sick with low immunity at the time and very stressed out about things? Can canker sores have more than one present at the same time? thanks so much any info will be appreciated greatly!

I HAVE A FEW LITTLE WHITE SPOTS ON MY LIPS. I NOTICED ONE ABOUT 2-3 DAYS AGO. AND DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT. NOW I HAVE NOTICED THAT IF I LOOK CLOSELY I CAN SEE OTHER ONES COMING. On my latest OB I have been using a tincture of St Johns Wort and Licorice root and I am not claiming its a miracle cure but I think it works as well anything else. I put a few drops on a qtip and apply. It burns some at first because of the alcohol base but after one day it really made a difference. And after a couple days I have no more iching, tingling, or pain. The best part is there are no side effects. I used some cream the doc prescribe for a while and this works just as well and way better than abreva. Thats my two cents.

Hi, I am 28 yrs male, I acquired cold sores, when i was travelling in flight few months back,then i found i had a small bump on the left of my upper lip. I went to the doctor i was told i had herpes, I was shocked to hear that, becuase i never had any sexual relationship before nor i had kissed any one, the doctor told me it is an STD. he gave me some kind of an acid which to be applied on the bump, it fell of in 2 days, once the bump fell i could see the bump coming again on the same day, the bump is there for almost 2 months, now i am really confused whether it is really herpes, becuase that i did not have any relationship before, the bump on my lips is dry and there is no presence of reddish or white head, it is just present in the colour of my lips only.

I also got an emloyment in abu dhabi, I am leaving soon, i heard that i need to undergo medical examination, if i had herpes will it disqualify my medical examination test. Please do let me know about it.

Also I would really like to know whether it is herpes and medication for the bump i am having. Currently i am applying Zorivax.

My girlfriend had a cold sore and we did not have any skin to skin contact while she had an outbreak, but she used her saliva on my penis. What can happen?

I get outbreaks on instep of my foot (left only) that cooincide with typical cold sore outbreaks in and around my mouth. This has been occuring for many years but only in the past year or two did I realize that the outbreaks occuring on my foot were happening about the same time as outbreaks around my mouth.
The blisters on my foot are definitely not friction blisters. They tend to be larger than those near my mouth but are not as painful. The general appearance and duration are typical of blisters from typical oral outbreaks.
Anyone hear of or have similar experience?

I have very tiny cluster of blisters(a lot) in my upper lip for 45 days.The size is the same since i found that. No itching or burning sensation.will it be oral herpes?
